The summer gathering is held on Labor Day Weekend (4 days/3 nights) and includes peer led workshops, discussion groups, a pool party, camp sing along, and more for up to 75 trans men and trans masculine folks.

Jan 13-15, 2018 (Sat-Mon)

The winter retreat is an introspective weekend (3 days/2 nights) for 30 trans men and trans masculine folks who have an interest in meditation, journal writing, heart circles, and community building.

Transmission is not for profit and produced entirely by volunteers (About Us.) We have no paid staff and no advertising budget – so how do we spend the money we receive?

  • 84 cents of each dollar goes toward retreat food and lodging
  • 10 cents of each dollar goes toward fees (event insurance, PayPal, website, online registration app, and bookkeeping)
  • 6 cents of each dollar goes toward retreat supplies and printing

Our retreats are organized around heart circles. Experiencing a heart circle is both deeply personal and profoundly collective. A heart circle is an opportunity to sit together (in a circle) with the intention of becoming more present, heart directed, and connected. Participants speak authentically from the heart, one person at a time, in a confidential environment while the circle listens supportively without intervening. Sharing is completely optional, and listening compassionately is just as important as speaking from the heart. Attending heart circles is optional (like all of our activities), but participants who sit in heart circles report getting the most out of our retreats, so we encourage everyone to attend.

We have quiet hours from 11 PM to 7 AM. Silence is not required, but courtesy is. Feel free to socialize as late as you like, provided you keep the volume low so that others can sleep.

Transmission retreats are clean and sober. Recreational drugs, marijuana, and alcohol are not allowed. Participants with prescription medication (including medicinal marijuana) should bring and use their medication discretely to treat their medical condition as instructed by their doctor. Sharing or recreational use of prescription medication of any type is not allowed.

We have a Frequently Asked Questions page that may be helpful.

Transmission is entirely volunteer run (no paid staff) to keep costs as low as possible. From the Planning Team, to workshop facilitators, and the folks greeting you at the check in table – everyone is a volunteer. You might be asked to help set up for an activity, keep the snack table organized, or pick up around the grounds after the retreat ends. Thanks in advance for stepping up!

We offer half-price scholarships on a first come, first served basis (limited to funds on hand). To get a scholarship, simply select a scholarship option when you register (while supplies last). No application required. To donate to our scholarship fund, go to our donation page HERE.

Transmission embraces the diversity of our trans masculine identities, races, bodies, races, ethnicities, ages (18+), sexual orientations and abilities. Participants are expected to treat each other and our differences with respect and kindness.
